Quick answer
The PEPE coin price in INR is in the live widget above, along with how many tokens ₹1,000, ₹5,000 or ₹10,000 buys right now. To buy, Indians use a domestic exchange registered with FIU-IND, add rupees by UPI or bank transfer and buy on a PEPE/INR market. CoinDCX, WazirX and CoinSwitch all had one when we checked on 13 October 2026.
Two things make India different from almost everywhere else. Every profit is taxed at a flat 30% with no loss offset, and a 1% TDS is taken on sales. And several global platforms, CEX.IO included, do not serve India at all. Both points shape which route makes sense.
PEPE coin price in INR: reading the rupee quote
One PEPE is worth a small fraction of a paisa. On 13 October 2026 CoinGecko listed it at about ₹0.00039, which means 10,000 PEPE came to roughly ₹3.9 and a million PEPE to about ₹387. CoinSwitch showed ₹0.000402 the same day, a touch higher. Most people searching “pepe coin to inr” really want those round lots, so the widget above shows one million PEPE in rupees, and our PEPE calculator converts any amount.
Why the gap between venues? The INR market is tiny. On our snapshot, all PEPE/INR pairs together traded about $42,000 in 24 hours, around 0.2% of PEPE’s volume against national currencies. The Turkish lira did about $7.35 million the same day. Thin books mean wider spreads, so the rupee price on an Indian app can drift from the global price, especially in a fast market. The PEPE price page explains how the global quote is built.
Is PEPE legal in India? FIU-IND and the VDA rules
Crypto in India sits in an in-between place. It is not legal tender, it is not banned, and there is no standalone crypto law. What exists is a tax regime and an anti-money-laundering regime, both built around the term Virtual Digital Asset (VDA).
The anti-money-laundering side arrived with notification S.O. 1072(E) of 7 March 2023. It made VDA service providers “reporting entities” under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, covering crypto-to-rupee exchange, crypto-to-crypto exchange, transfers and custody. Offshore platforms serving Indian users must register too. FIU-IND issued its AML guidelines for these firms on 10 March 2023. One practical limit: we could not fetch a clean public register of registered platforms, so registration status in this guide is either self-declared by the exchange or reported by the press.
Taxes are handled by the Income Tax Department. The new Income Tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026 and, according to tax advisers, keeps the substance of the old VDA rules; the new section numbers are something we could not verify. A penalty for failing to furnish crypto-asset statements also applies from that date.
Indian exchanges with a PEPE/INR pair
We checked each exchange’s public API or PEPE page on 13 October 2026. The registration column reflects what the exchange displays or what the press reports, because FIU-IND’s own list was not reachable.
| Exchange | PEPE market | FIU-IND status |
|---|---|---|
| CoinDCX | PEPE/INR, PEPE/USDT | Registered (press reports) |
| WazirX | PEPE/INR, PEPE/USDT | Registered (press reports) |
| CoinSwitch | PEPE/INR | “FIU registered” on its site |
| Mudrex | INR via UPI, filled on PEPE/USDT | “FIU registered” on its site |
| ZebPay | PEPE/INR (thin) | Registered (press reports) |
CoinDCX and WazirX both run native PEPE/INR books. WazirX has a history worth knowing: it was hit by a hack of about $235 million in July 2024, went through a court-supervised restructuring in Singapore and resumed trading in October 2025. CoinSwitch quotes PEPE in rupees directly. Mudrex is a little different: its PEPE page says you can deposit INR through UPI or bank transfer and buy PEPE, but the actual order runs on a PEPE/USDT book, with your rupees converted along the way.
Many traders also use Binance P2P, where the USDT/INR market had 985 buy adverts on 13 October 2026, and then buy PEPE against USDT. Binance’s FIU-IND registration is only reported in the press, and P2P adds counterparty risk, so it is the more advanced route. Our PEPE exchange comparison covers the global platforms.
How to buy PEPE coin in India, step by step
This route keeps everything inside the Indian system: rupees in by UPI, PEPE bought on a registered exchange, and TDS handled automatically. For the general walkthrough, including wallets and selling later, see our step-by-step PEPE guide.
Pick an FIU-registered exchange
CoinDCX, WazirX, CoinSwitch, Mudrex and ZebPay all say they are registered with FIU-IND. There is no public register we could fetch, so check the registration claim in the app’s legal section.
Complete KYC
Indian exchanges are reporting entities under the PMLA, so they verify your identity before you can deposit or trade. Have your identity documents ready.
Add rupees by UPI or bank transfer
UPI is the everyday rail for small deposits, with IMPS or NEFT for larger ones. Mudrex confirms UPI and bank transfer; check the deposit screen of other apps for current options and limits.
Buy on the PEPE/INR market
Search PEPE, pick the INR pair and place a limit order. INR books are thin, so a limit order protects you from paying far above the last price. On Mudrex your rupees are routed through USDT automatically.
Track every trade for tax
Each sale carries 1% TDS and each gain is taxed at 30%. Download your trade report regularly so your Schedule VDA is easy to fill. Our PEPE wallet guide helps if you want to self-custody.
The 30% tax and 1% TDS on PEPE
India’s crypto tax is simple to describe and painful to live with. Gains from transferring a VDA such as PEPE are taxed at a flat 30%, plus surcharge where applicable and a 4% cess. Your slab rate does not matter. Losses cannot be set off against other income, and they cannot be carried forward. On top of that, a 1% TDS is deducted on transfers above ₹50,000 a year for specified persons and ₹10,000 a year for everyone else. Budget 2026, presented in February 2026, left both rates unchanged.
Here is what that means in practice, as our own arithmetic rather than tax advice. Say you buy PEPE for ₹20,000 and sell it for ₹30,000. The exchange deducts 1% TDS, ₹300, on the sale. Your ₹10,000 gain is taxed at 30% plus 4% cess, or ₹3,120 before any surcharge; the TDS counts as tax already paid. Now imagine a second trade that loses ₹10,000. In most systems that loss would cancel the gain. In India it does not, and you still owe tax on the first ₹10,000.
All of this goes into Schedule VDA of your income-tax return. The usual due date for non-audit filers is 31 July, with a later date for some return types, according to tax advisers; confirm the current dates on the income-tax portal before you file.
Can PEPE coin reach 1 rupee?
It is one of India’s most common PEPE searches, so here is the maths. On 13 October 2026 PEPE was about ₹0.00039, so reaching ₹1 would need a rise of roughly 2,600 times. With about 413.77 trillion tokens in circulation, a ₹1 price implies a market value near ₹414 trillion. Using the rupee-dollar rate implied by CoinGecko’s prices that day, that is roughly $4.3 trillion, close to the market value PEPE would need for 1 US cent. Our page on whether PEPE can reach 1 cent puts that figure next to Bitcoin and gold.
Searches for a “pepe coin price prediction in INR” or a “future in Hindi” are after the same answer. Nobody can tell you where a meme coin goes. Our PEPE price scenarios show the bull, base and bear maths in dollars; multiply by the rupee rate for an INR view.
Global platforms and CEX.IO
CEX.IO, an exchange running since 2013, lists India among the 30 countries and territories it does not serve, in a support article dated 10 September 2026. Indian residents cannot sign up, and you should be wary of anyone offering to open an account for you abroad. More broadly, offshore platforms that serve Indians are expected to register with FIU-IND, so sticking with a registered exchange keeps you on the right side of the AML rules and gives you clean TDS records.
Local tips, traps and unique facts
P2P safety. If you use P2P to buy USDT, only release or send money inside the platform’s escrow flow, and never move the conversation to WhatsApp or Telegram. Prefer counterparties with a long, high-completion trading history, and remember that the rupee leg of a P2P trade happens outside the exchange.
Wrong frog risk. Search results are full of “Pepe” tokens that are not PEPE. The real one is an Ethereum token with a contract ending …2311933, and our PEPE copycat guide lists the common impostors.
Liquidity reality check. With about $42,000 a day across all INR pairs, a large order can move the rupee price. Split big buys into smaller limit orders.
And the headline fact: India ranked first in the Chainalysis 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index, the third year in a row at the top. India leads the world on crypto adoption while its PEPE/INR books stay thin, and one plausible reading is that many Indian PEPE buyers go through USDT rather than rupee pairs.
For Indian buyers the right PEPE plan is boring on purpose: an FIU-registered exchange, UPI deposits, limit orders on thin INR books and a spreadsheet for Schedule VDA. Neighbouring markets show the alternatives, from P2P-first buying PEPE in Pakistan to rupiah apps in buying PEPE in Indonesia, where the tax is 0.21% per sale.
Questions people ask

On 13 October 2026 we confirmed a PEPE/INR market on CoinDCX, WazirX and CoinSwitch through their public data, plus thinner INR books on ZebPay and Koinpark. Mudrex lets you pay in INR by UPI or bank transfer and fills the order on a PEPE/USDT book.
Is buying PEPE legal in India?+
Crypto is not legal tender in India, but it is not banned either. It is taxed as a Virtual Digital Asset, and exchanges serving Indians must register with FIU-IND under the anti-money-laundering law since March 2023. Buying PEPE through a registered exchange is a normal, taxable activity.
How much tax do I pay on PEPE profits in India?+
Gains from transferring PEPE are taxed at a flat 30% plus surcharge and 4% cess, and losses cannot be set off against other income or carried forward. A 1% TDS is also deducted on transfers above the yearly thresholds. Budget 2026 left both rules unchanged.
Can PEPE coin reach 1 rupee?+
At ₹1 per token, PEPE’s circulating supply of about 413.77 trillion tokens would be worth roughly ₹414 trillion, around $4.3 trillion at the exchange rate implied by CoinGecko on 13 October 2026. That would require a rise of about 2,600 times from that day’s price. It is maths, not a forecast.
Can I use CEX.IO in India?+
No. India is on CEX.IO’s list of unsupported countries, dated 10 September 2026, so Indian residents cannot open an account there. Use an Indian exchange registered with FIU-IND instead.
