Pepe coin vs Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and co. at a glance

“Pepe coin vs Shiba Inu” is one of the most common questions new meme-coin buyers ask, usually followed by “or should I just get Dogecoin?” The honest answer is that all three, plus Bonk, Floki, dogwifhat and Mog, are the same kind of asset: tokens whose value comes almost entirely from community, attention and liquidity. The differences that matter are practical ones, such as which chain they live on, how their supply works, how far they have fallen from their peaks and how easy they are to buy where you live.

The table below sticks to static, sourced facts. Market caps change by the minute, so they live in the battle widget at the top of the page. As a dated reference point, on 13 October 2026 CoinGecko ranked these coins by market cap as DOGE, SHIB, PEPE, BONK, FLOKI, WIF and MOG, which makes PEPE the third-largest meme coin in this group.

CoinGecko markets data, 13 Oct 2026. Launch years are the generally accepted dates, consistent with CoinGecko’s records.

MOG2023Ethereum420.69T$0.00000402 (6 Dec 2024)

Two quick notes on reading it. SHIB’s supply is shown on CoinGecko as 589.24 trillion circulating with no separate max, and DOGE has no cap at all; new DOGE is mined continuously. And yes, MOG really uses the same 420.69 trillion maximum as PEPE. Same joke, different token.

PEPE vs Shiba Inu: frog vs dog on Ethereum

PEPE and SHIB are the closest rivals here because both are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum with prices full of zeros. That means the same wallets work for both (MetaMask, Ledger, Trust Wallet), the same Uniswap pools, and the same gas costs when you move them on-chain. The big difference is philosophy. SHIB launched in 2020 and spent years building an ecosystem around the token, including its own layer-2 network, Shibarium. PEPE’s website, by contrast, says plainly that there is no formal team or roadmap and that the coin is for entertainment.

On 13 October 2026, SHIB was larger, at about $3.03 billion against PEPE’s $1.71 billion. But PEPE had held up better from its high: about 85.5% below its December 2024 peak, compared with SHIB’s roughly 94% below its October 2021 peak. SHIB’s record is older, which means its holders have been underwater longer.

If you are deciding between “shiba or pepe coin”, ask what you want from the bet. SHIB offers a bigger, older community and more things to do with the token; PEPE offers a simpler asset whose contract can never change. Neither offers cash flows. Our guide to what PEPE is explains the frog’s background, and PEPE tokenomics shows exactly where its supply sits.

Pepe coin vs Dogecoin: the original meme

Dogecoin is a different animal, literally and technically. It is not a token on someone else’s chain but its own proof-of-work blockchain, launched in 2013, with no supply cap: miners keep producing new DOGE. That gives it steady inflation, but also a long history as a tipping and payments coin, and a brand that even Matt Furie, the creator of Pepe the Frog, has joked about preferring. In a May 2023 Twitter Space he reportedly called himself a “Dogecoin maxi”.

The gap in size is large. On 13 October 2026, DOGE’s market cap was about $13.02 billion, roughly 7.6 times PEPE’s. DOGE also has something PEPE does not yet have: US exchange-traded products. Grayscale’s Dogecoin Trust ETF began trading on NYSE Arca on 24 November 2025, according to its prospectus on SEC EDGAR. For PEPE, Canary Capital filed an S-1 for a spot PEPE ETF on 8 April 2026 and an amendment on 2 October 2026, but on 13 October 2026 it was not effective and not trading. The ETF status of SHIB, BONK, FLOKI, WIF and MOG was outside what we checked for this page.

For PEPE to match DOGE’s 13 October market cap, its price would need to rise to roughly $0.000031, a little above its own all-time high. That is simple arithmetic, not a forecast. Our PEPE price prediction scenarios run more of these numbers, and the 1 cent analysis shows why some targets are out of reach.

Bonk vs Pepe coin, plus FLOKI, WIF and MOG

BONK: the Solana dog

BONK launched on Solana in 2022 and became that chain’s flagship meme. Solana fees are typically much lower than Ethereum’s, which matters if you trade small amounts often. On 13 October 2026 BONK’s market cap was about $280 million, roughly a sixth of PEPE’s, and it sat about 94.5% below its November 2024 peak. So if you are weighing “pepe coin or bonk coin”, you are really choosing between Ethereum and Solana as much as between frog and dog.

FLOKI: the dog with a roadmap

FLOKI dates from 2021 and lives on both Ethereum and BNB Chain, with a 20 trillion max supply of which about 9.64 trillion was circulating on 13 October 2026. Like SHIB, it pitches products around the token. Its market cap was about $246 million and its price about 92.6% below its June 2024 high.

WIF: the hat that peaked early

dogwifhat (WIF) is a 2023 Solana meme with a small supply by meme standards, just under one billion tokens, so its price has no long string of zeros. It peaked at $4.83 on 31 March 2024 and was about 95.7% below that on 13 October 2026, with a market cap near $205 million.

MOG: the 420.69T cousin

Mog Coin is another 2023 Ethereum meme that copied PEPE’s 420.69 trillion max supply. It is much smaller, about $40.6 million on 13 October 2026, and showed the deepest drawdown of the group at roughly 97.4%. If you are deciding “mog coin or pepe”, the size difference alone tells you MOG is the higher-variance bet.

Supply and burns compared

Supply design is where these coins differ most. DOGE is inflationary with no cap. PEPE, BONK, WIF and MOG have fixed maximums. FLOKI has a cap but less than half is circulating. SHIB’s circulating figure, 589.24 trillion on CoinGecko, is well below the one quadrillion it is widely reported to have started with, largely because of big early burns.

PEPE’s burns were discrete events, not a mechanism. In October 2023 the team burned about 6.9 trillion PEPE, which still sits at the dead address, and holders have voluntarily destroyed roughly 100 billion more through the contract’s public burn function. In total that is about 1.67% of supply. There is no automatic burn or transaction tax, whatever some aggregator descriptions say. That is why CoinGecko shows 420.69 trillion and CoinMarketCap about 413.77 trillion: one counts the dead-address tokens, the other excludes them.

Drawdowns and volatility

The clearest way to compare meme-coin risk is to see how far each one has fallen from its best day. On 13 October 2026, every coin in this group was at least 85% below its all-time high. PEPE was the least drawn-down; MOG the most. That pattern is typical: smaller caps tend to rise faster in a meme cycle and fall harder after it.

Peaks also clustered. PEPE, BONK and MOG all set their highs between 19 November and 9 December 2024, during the late-2024 meme rally that followed PEPE’s Coinbase and Robinhood listings on 13 November 2024. DOGE and SHIB peaked in 2021. If history is any guide, these coins tend to move together, so holding several of them diversifies less than it seems. The full PEPE timeline is on our PEPE price history page.

Which meme coin fits you?

There is no winner in a “pepe coin vs shiba inu comparison” that holds for everyone, but there are sensible ways to choose. If you want the oldest, most liquid meme with ETF access in the US, that is DOGE. If you want an Ethereum meme with an ecosystem attached, SHIB or FLOKI fit. If you are already on Solana, BONK or WIF will be cheaper to move around. And if you want a pure, fixed-supply Ethereum meme with an immutable contract and deep exchange liquidity, that is PEPE.

Whichever you pick, the practical steps are the same: check the right contract, use a reputable exchange and size the position for a 90% drawdown. Our guide to buying PEPE and PEPE exchange comparison cover the how. If you are confused by the other frogs, read PEPE vs Pepecoin and our PEPE risk guide before you buy.

Our take

PEPE is the youngest of the big three and the one that has held up best from its peak, but it is still a meme coin trading far below its high. Compare these coins on market cap, chain and drawdown rather than on price or hype, and remember they tend to rise and fall together.

Questions people ask

Is Pepe coin better than Shiba Inu?+

Neither is objectively better. SHIB is older, larger by market cap and has built its own ecosystem, while PEPE is a pure meme with a simpler, fixed supply and no team roadmap. On 13 October 2026 PEPE was about 85.5% below its all-time high and SHIB about 94%, so PEPE had held up better from its peak.

Pepe coin vs Dogecoin: what is the main difference?+

Dogecoin is its own proof-of-work blockchain from 2013 with no supply cap, used for payments and tips. PEPE is a 2023 ERC-20 token on Ethereum with a fixed 420.69 trillion supply. DOGE also has US spot ETF products trading, while the Canary PEPE ETF was still only a filing in October 2026.

Bonk vs Pepe coin: which is bigger?+

PEPE. On 13 October 2026 CoinGecko listed PEPE at about $1.71 billion and BONK at about $280 million. BONK runs on Solana and PEPE on Ethereum, which affects fees, wallets and the DEXs where each trades.

Mog coin or Pepe: are they related?+

No. Mog Coin (MOG) is a separate Ethereum meme token from 2023. It shares PEPE’s 420.69 trillion max supply number, which is a meme in itself, but it is a different project with a much smaller market cap, about $40.6 million on 13 October 2026.

Which meme coin has the most upside?+

Nobody can know. Smaller coins need less money to double, but they also tend to fall further: on 13 October 2026, MOG and WIF were both more than 95% below their highs. Treat any meme coin as a speculative bet and size it so a 90% drop would not hurt.
