Pepe coin on Bitpanda: the verdict in short

If you want pepe coin on Bitpanda, the experience is about as simple as crypto gets: one price, one button, done. The Vienna company quotes PEPE in euro, US dollars, Swiss francs, pounds, Turkish lira, Polish zloty, Hungarian forint, Czech koruna, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish krone and Romanian leu, all visible in its public ticker on 13 October 2026. You can fund with free SEPA, PayPal or a card and own PEPE a minute later.

We score it 7.8 out of 10. It gets top marks for licensing and polish, but loses ground on cost. Bitpanda is a broker, not an exchange, so instead of a visible fee it builds a premium into the price, which its own support pages put anywhere from 0.00% to 2.49%. It also does not publish a PEPE withdrawal fee. That combination makes it a great first stop and a pricier long-term home than Bitvavo, its closest rival.

Bitpanda is especially popular in Germany and Austria. If you live there, our guide to buying PEPE in Germany also covers tax under § 23 EStG and the September 2026 draft that could change it.

Who runs Bitpanda, and which licences it holds

Bitpanda was founded in Vienna in 2014 by Eric Demuth, Paul Klanschek and Christian Trummer. It started life as Coinimal GmbH, took the Bitpanda name in 2018 and has sat under a Swiss parent, Bitpanda Group AG, since 2022. Like most fintechs it has had lean years too: Wikipedia records 2022 layoffs of about 35% of staff, a business event rather than a security one.

Its licence stack is the strongest of the four platforms we reviewed. ESMA’s interim MiCA register, checked on 13 October 2026, lists three Bitpanda entities. Bitpanda GmbH holds a crypto-asset service provider authorisation from Austria’s FMA dated 9 April 2025, covering custody, exchange, execution, placing, order transmission and transfers. Bitpanda Asset Management GmbH was authorised by Germany’s BaFin on 24 January 2025 and passports across the EEA. BP23 CA Limited, trading as Bitpanda, holds a Maltese MFSA authorisation from 27 January 2025. Bitpanda itself advertises 16 European licences and registrations.

How we scored Bitpanda for PEPE buyers

We weight six criteria the same way on every review: licensing 20%, PEPE market quality 15%, costs 25%, withdrawals 15%, security 15% and the app 10%. Costs carry the heaviest weight because, with a token priced in millionths of a cent, the spread you pay on entry and exit is often the biggest number you control.

Security (15%)8.5ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, no hack found
App (10%)9.0iOS 4.7 from 56,008 ratings
Weighted total7.8Out of 10

The 9.5 for licensing reflects three separate MiCA authorisations from three regulators, the only platform in our set with that depth. The PEPE market scores 8 because twelve fiat quotes is unusual breadth, but you cannot place a limit order on the app’s broker price. Costs drop to 6.5 because a premium of up to 2.49% can be ten times Bitvavo’s 0.25% taker fee. Withdrawals get 6 because the fee is simply not published. Security’s 8.5 rests on ISO 27001 certification, a SOC 2 Type 2 report and no exchange hack we could find. The app’s 9 matches a 4.7 rating from 56,008 German iOS reviews.

Bitpanda fees: what PEPE really costs

Bitpanda’s pricing confuses people because there is rarely a separate “fee” line. The premium sits inside the quoted price, and the trade summary shows it as a percentage before you confirm. Bitpanda’s support centre, updated on 22 September 2026, gives the range as 0.00% to 2.49% and names 0.99% for Bitcoin. It does not name a PEPE figure, and we did not want to guess one, so look at the summary screen: that number is your real cost.

A worked example shows why it matters. Buying €500 of PEPE at a 2.49% premium costs about €12.45; selling later at a similar premium costs roughly the same again. On Bitvavo the same round trip at 0.25% each way costs about €2.50. If the PEPE premium on your screen is closer to Bitcoin’s 0.99%, the gap narrows. Bitpanda Fusion, the advanced trading platform, has degressive fees down to 0.02% and a 20% discount if you pay fees in the VSN token, but we could not confirm that PEPE has a Fusion market. How to buy PEPE on Bitpanda

You need a verified account; your verification status also sets your limits. Bitpanda has not published a minimum PEPE purchase that we could verify, so the app will tell you if your amount is too small.

  1. Create and verify your account

Sign up at bitpanda.com or in the app and finish KYC with an ID document.

  2. Deposit money

SEPA and SEPA Instant are free in euro. PayPal costs 1.49%. Cards are accepted with the fee shown at checkout.

  3. Search for Pepe (PEPE)

Open the asset page and confirm it is PEPE, not a copycat or the separate Pepecoin (PEP) project.

  4. Check the trade summary

Enter an amount and read the premium shown before confirming. That percentage is your real cost.

  5. Confirm and decide on custody

Keep PEPE in Bitpanda or withdraw it to an Ethereum wallet you control after checking the fee.

Withdrawing PEPE from Bitpanda

PEPE is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so a withdrawal from any platform ends up as an Ethereum transaction to your address. Bitpanda supports crypto withdrawals, but it does not publish PEPE’s withdrawal network or fee in a public table, and we could not verify either. Its deposit help page notes that minimums are set per coin and that small deposits may incur cold-storage forwarding fees.

For comparison, Bitvavo charges a flat 270,000 PEPE with a 280,000 PEPE minimum. Without a published Bitpanda figure, we cannot say which is cheaper for your amount.

Is Bitpanda safe?

Bitpanda says it holds ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report, the two most common independent security frameworks for financial tech. We found no record of an exchange hack, though we cannot prove a negative. Two claims deserve a caveat. The security page says funds are “regularly validated” but does not explain the method, so we treat proof of reserves as unverified. And the “insured” wording on Bitpanda’s site refers to its institutional custody product; we could not confirm insurance for retail balances. None of this is a red flag, but it is less transparent than Bitvavo’s Merkle-tree attestations. Market risk is a separate matter, covered in is PEPE safe.

Bitpanda alternatives and the CEX.IO comparison

Bitvavo is the obvious alternative if cost matters more than convenience: a PEPE-EUR order book, a €5 minimum and 0.25% taker fees. In Germany, Bison from the Boerse Stuttgart group lists PEPE too and is BaFin-supervised; Kraken runs PEPE/EUR under an Irish MiCA licence. Dutch readers can check our guide to buying PEPE in the Netherlands, and the full list is on our PEPE exchanges page.

What about CEX.IO, which this site’s buy buttons point to? For EU residents it is not an option today. CEX.IO stopped onboarding new EU and EEA users when the MiCA transition ended on 1 July 2026, existing EU accounts are withdrawal-only, and its CNMV application in Spain is still pending. Outside the EU it offers PEPE against USD, USDT and USDC, but no euro pair.

Our take

Bitpanda is where we would send a friend making a first, small PEPE purchase in Europe: heavily regulated, easy and flexible on payment. Once your trades get bigger or more frequent, the premium adds up and an order-book exchange makes more sense.

Questions people ask

Can I buy PEPE coin on Bitpanda?+

Yes. PEPE appears in Bitpanda’s public price ticker with quotes in euro and eleven other currencies, and it has its own asset page. If the app tells you PEPE is not available, the cause is usually your account’s country or verification level rather than a delisting, so check with Bitpanda support.

Why does it say PEPE is not available on Bitpanda?+

We could not reproduce a general restriction. PEPE was live in Bitpanda’s ticker on 13 October 2026. Availability can depend on your residence, account type and verification status, so complete KYC first and contact support if the asset is still greyed out.

How much are Bitpanda fees for PEPE?+

Bitpanda builds a premium into its buy and sell price. Its support centre says the fee shown in the trade summary ranges from 0.00% to 2.49%; the exact premium for PEPE only appears in the order summary before you confirm. SEPA deposits are free, PayPal costs 1.49% and card fees are shown at checkout.

Is Bitpanda regulated in Germany?+

Yes. Bitpanda Asset Management GmbH was authorised by BaFin under MiCA on 24 January 2025, and Bitpanda GmbH by the Austrian FMA on 9 April 2025. Both appear in ESMA’s interim MiCA register.

Can I withdraw PEPE from Bitpanda to my own wallet?+

Bitpanda supports crypto withdrawals, and PEPE is an Ethereum token, so you would send it to an Ethereum address. Bitpanda does not publish its PEPE withdrawal fee in a public table, so check the fee shown in the app before you confirm.

Is Bitpanda or Bitvavo cheaper for PEPE?+

For trading costs, Bitvavo is usually cheaper: 0.25% taker on its PEPE-EUR order book against a Bitpanda premium of up to 2.49%. Bitpanda wins on payment options and currencies, including PayPal and Turkish lira.

Convenience or cost? Pick your lane

Bitpanda trades a little extra cost for a lot of simplicity. Compare it with order-book exchanges before you buy, and never invest more than you can lose.
