Pepe coin price in IDR: why it is less than one rupiah
The Pepe coin price in IDR is the number most Indonesian buyers check first, and the widget above shows it live in rupiah. The short version: one PEPE is worth a small fraction of a single rupiah. On 13 October 2026 CoinGecko’s reference price put 1 PEPE at about Rp 0.0726, and Indodax’s own PEPE/IDR order book was trading at Rp 0.072315 that morning. That is why local apps advertise PEPE in round rupiah amounts rather than per token. Pintu’s market page literally says you can start from Rp 11,000.
Because the unit price is so tiny, the pepe coin price in Indonesian rupiah moves in the fourth or fifth decimal place, and different apps can show slightly different numbers at the same moment. Indodax and Pintu run their own order books, so the price you see is the last trade on that venue, not a global average. If two apps disagree by a fraction of a percent, that is normal. If they disagree by several percent, look at the spread before you tap buy. Our PEPE calculator is handy for turning a rupiah budget into a token count before you commit.
Rupiah is still a small slice of PEPE’s global trading. On the day we checked, IDR pairs made up about 1.0% of the fiat-pair volume across the first 300 CoinGecko tickers, roughly $0.25 million in 24 hours, against 30.2% for Turkish lira and 33.4% for US dollars. Treat that as a one-day snapshot, not a trend, but it explains why the IDR order books are thinner than the big USDT markets.
Is PEPE legal in Indonesia? OJK, Bappebti and the CFX list
Yes, and the paperwork is unusually tidy. Since January 2025 crypto in Indonesia is supervised by the Financial Services Authority, OJK, which took over from the commodities regulator Bappebti under the P2SK Law (UU 4/2023). The main rulebook is POJK 27/2024. Crypto counts as a tradable digital financial asset; it is not legal tender, so you cannot pay for nasi goreng with it, but you can legally buy, hold and sell it through licensed platforms.
Those platforms are called PAKD, digital financial asset traders. According to Kontan’s report of an OJK briefing on 5 October 2026, there were 28 licensed PAKDs by September 2026, the newest being PT Gudang Kripto Indonesia, licensed effective 22 September 2026. OJK published its first official whitelist on 19 December 2025 in press release SP 226/GKPB/OJK/XII/2025, and Indodax and Bittime are on it. Pintu, Tokocrypto and Reku appear in CFX’s May 2026 list of members licensed as PAKD.
The detail that matters for frog fans: PEPE itself is on the official CFX bourse asset list as PEPE-915. Licensed traders may only offer assets on that list, so a local app selling PEPE is doing so inside the rules. Few countries publish anything this specific about a meme coin.
Local exchanges with PEPE and their rupiah pairs
We checked each venue’s public API or market page on 13 October 2026. Two names clearly lead for rupiah buyers. Indodax, running since 2014, has a live PEPE/IDR market with a Rp 10,000 minimum order. Pintu, the app-first newcomer backed by Pantera Capital and Coinbase Ventures, quotes PEPE/IDR on its Pro side and holds client assets with the local custodian ICC and Fireblocks. Both are covered in detail in our Indodax review and Pintu review.
| Venue | PEPE pair | Rupiah rails | Licence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indodax | PEPE/IDR, PEPE/USDT | QRIS, VA, BCA Direct, GoPay, OVO, DANA | OJK PAKD, on the Dec 2025 whitelist |
| Pintu | PEPE/IDR (Pro) | Bank VA, QRIS, GoPay, OVO, DANA, ShopeePay | OJK PAKD (PT Pintu Kemana Saja) |
| Bittime | PEPE/IDR, PEPE/USDT | Not confirmed | OJK PAKD, on the Dec 2025 whitelist |
| Reku | PEPE priced in rupiah | Not confirmed | OJK PAKD |
| Tokocrypto | PEPE/USDT, USDC, USD1 only | Not confirmed | OJK PAKD |
Tokocrypto is the one to watch for confusion. It is OJK-licensed and lists PEPE, but only against USDT, USDC and USD1, with no IDR pair. That means two steps: buy a stablecoin with rupiah first, then swap it into PEPE, paying a spread twice. Reku shows a rupiah price for PEPE in its price feed, but it does not expose the pair name, and its deposit rails could not be confirmed. For a wider view of global venues such as Binance or OKX, see our PEPE exchange comparison.
How to buy Pepe coin in Indonesia, step by step
Here is the route most locals take with a licensed app. It works the same on Indodax and Pintu, with small differences in fees and minimums. Our general how-to-buy guide covers the steps that are the same everywhere, such as checking the contract.
Pick a licensed app
Choose a PAKD with a PEPE/IDR pair, such as Indodax or Pintu, and check it on OJK’s whitelist.
Verify your identity
Complete KYC with your KTP. Higher tiers raise your daily limits.
Top up rupiah
Use QRIS for small amounts, a bank virtual account for bigger ones, or an e-wallet such as GoPay, OVO or DANA.
Buy PEPE/IDR
Place a market order for speed or a limit order for price control. Minimums start around Rp 10,000 to Rp 11,000.
Store it
Leave a small amount in the app, or withdraw to an Ethereum (ERC-20) wallet you control.
Deposit costs differ more than trading fees, so pick the rail with care. On Indodax, BCA Direct transfers are free from Rp 100,000; virtual accounts cost between Rp 1,000 and Rp 3,330; QRIS is free up to Rp 100,000 and 0.7% above that; and e-wallets cost more: DANA and OVO 1.67%, ShopeePay 1.5% and GoPay 2%. Pintu charges no deposit fee of its own, though your bank or e-wallet may, and needs at least Rp 50,000. Taking rupiah back out costs a flat Rp 10,000 on Indodax and Rp 4,500 on Pintu.
Trading fees on Pintu Pro have been 0.12% maker and 0.17% taker since 1 October 2026, plus a 0.00555% CFX fee. Indodax’s API lists 0.1% maker and 0.2% taker for PEPE/IDR, but Indodax moved to a new “all-in” fee on 1 October 2026 under a CFX-KKI circular and shows the full table only inside the app, so check it there before you trade.

Hop inPepe coin tax in Indonesia: 0.21% local, 1% abroad
Indonesia taxes crypto on each transaction rather than on yearly profit. Since PMK 50/2025 took effect on 1 August 2025, selling on a licensed domestic platform carries a 0.21% final income tax on the transaction value, withheld automatically by the exchange. Pintu’s fee page shows exactly that: 0% on buys and 0.21% PPh 22 on sells. Sell through a foreign platform and the rate is 1%; if that platform is not appointed as a tax collector, you are responsible for paying it yourself.
The same regulation removed VAT on crypto, treating it more like securities. Older articles that quote 0.1% income tax plus 0.11% VAT describe the 2022 PMK 68 regime and are out of date. Even with tax withheld at source, you still report holdings in your annual return (SPT Tahunan) through the Coretax system. For tax year 2025 the deadline was 31 March 2026, with late-filing penalties waived until 30 April 2026 under KEP-55/PJ/2026. The 2026 deadline is presumably 31 March 2027, but DJP had not confirmed it when we checked.
CEX.IO availability in Indonesia
CEX.IO, an exchange running since 2013, does not list Indonesia among its unsupported countries (support article dated 10 September 2026), so Indonesian residents can generally sign up through its international entity, CEX OVRS LLC in Nevis. Be clear about what that means. CEX.IO has no OJK licence and is not on the whitelist, and OJK says entities missing from its list are not licensed or supervised in Indonesia. There is no rupiah pair either: PEPE trades there against USD, USDT and USDC, and 24-hour volume on those books was very small when we looked.
On the cost side, selling through a foreign platform pushes your tax rate from 0.21% to 1%. When we checked on 13 October 2026, CEX.IO pages also carried a notice that deposits and trading were unavailable “due to ongoing regulatory updates”. The banner is labelled for the EU’s MiCA rules and may be targeted at European visitors, but we could not confirm whether it applies in Indonesia, so look at your own account before funding it.
Local tips: whitelist checks, fake tokens and withdrawals
The single best habit is checking a platform against OJK’s whitelist before you send it rupiah. Plenty of apps and Telegram “signal groups” target Indonesian users, and an offshore platform that isn’t on the list gives you no local supervisor to complain to. A licensed PAKD also withholds your tax correctly, which saves paperwork later.
Second, make sure you are buying the real token. The original PEPE is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and dozens of copycats with frog logos and similar tickers float around social media. Our guide to PEPE clones and copycats lists the common ones. If you withdraw from a local app, send PEPE over the Ethereum network to a wallet you control; our PEPE wallet guide shows how to add the token and keep your seed phrase safe. Indodax and Pintu do not publish their PEPE withdrawal fee outside the app, so check it in the withdrawal screen first.
Indonesia by the numbers: Chainalysis rank and a busy market
Indonesia is one of the world’s most active crypto markets. In Chainalysis’s 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index it ranked #7, down from #3 in 2024. OJK figures reported by Kontan put Indonesia at 23.21 million crypto consumers in August 2026, with Rp 23.16 trillion in crypto transactions that month, up 12.87% from July.
What makes Indonesia unusual for PEPE is how formal the meme coin’s status is. It has a bourse asset ID, a fixed tax rate per sale and licensed apps that quote it directly in rupiah, with QRIS top-ups from Rp 10,000 or so. Compare that with buying PEPE in India, where rupee pairs exist but gains face a flat 30% tax plus 1% TDS, or with buying PEPE in Australia, where AUSTRAC registration and the ATO’s capital-gains rules set the frame.
For most Indonesian buyers, a licensed PAKD with a PEPE/IDR pair is the cleanest route: rupiah in via QRIS or a virtual account, 0.21% tax handled for you, and PEPE on the official CFX list. Offshore exchanges add steps, a 1% tax rate and no local oversight.
Questions people ask
What is the Pepe coin price in IDR today?+
The live price in rupiah is in the widget at the top of this page. For scale: on 13 October 2026 CoinGecko listed 1 PEPE at about Rp 0.0726, so the price is a fraction of one rupiah and people think in batches of thousands or millions of tokens.
Is PEPE legal in Indonesia?+
Yes. Crypto is treated as a tradable digital financial asset supervised by OJK, though it is not legal tender. PEPE is on the official CFX bourse asset list as PEPE-915, which means licensed traders such as Indodax and Pintu may offer it.
Which Indonesian exchanges have a PEPE/IDR pair?+
On 13 October 2026 we confirmed live PEPE/IDR markets on Indodax and Pintu through their own data. Bittime and OSL Indonesia also show PEPE/IDR on CoinGecko. Tokocrypto lists PEPE only against USDT, USDC and USD1, with no rupiah pair.
How much tax do I pay on PEPE in Indonesia?+
Under PMK 50/2025, in force since 1 August 2025, selling on a licensed domestic platform carries a 0.21% final income tax that the exchange withholds automatically. Through a foreign platform the rate is 1%. Crypto is no longer subject to VAT, so the old 0.1% plus 0.11% figures are out of date.
What is the minimum to buy PEPE in rupiah?+
Indodax accepts orders from Rp 10,000 (Pro mode needs Rp 25,000), and Pintu’s limits table shows a minimum buy of Rp 11,000. At the 13 October 2026 snapshot, Rp 11,000 bought roughly 151,000 PEPE.
Can I use CEX.IO from Indonesia?+
Indonesia is not on CEX.IO’s unsupported-country list, but CEX.IO is not licensed by OJK and has no rupiah pair; PEPE trades there against USD, USDT and USDC. Selling through a foreign platform also means the 1% tax rate instead of 0.21%.
