Quick answer: how to buy Pepe coin

The short version of how to buy Pepe coin: open an account on an exchange that lists PEPE and is allowed to serve you, verify your identity, deposit money, and place an order for PEPE. That’s it. Most people are done in under an hour, and the slowest part is usually the ID check, not the trade.

The longer version matters because PEPE is a meme coin with hundreds of copycats, a price with five zeros after the decimal point, and very different buying options from one country to the next. A buyer in Istanbul pays in lira through a bank transfer, a buyer in Jakarta taps QRIS, and a buyer in Amsterdam uses iDEAL. The steps are the same, the details are not. This guide walks through each step, what each payment method really costs, how to buy on Uniswap if you prefer a decentralised exchange, and how to sell when you’re done.

One thing before you start: PEPE has no intrinsic value by its own website’s admission, and on 13 October 2026 it traded about 85% below its December 2024 peak, according to CoinGecko. If you want the risk picture first, read is PEPE safe. If you’re still in, let’s go.

How to buy Pepe coin, step by step

These five steps work on nearly every centralised exchange, from Coinbase to BtcTurk. The buttons have different names, but the flow is the same.

  1. Pick an exchange that serves your country

Look for three things: it lists PEPE, it is licensed or registered where you live, and it accepts your local payment method. The PEPE exchange comparison sorts venues by country.

  2. Create an account and verify your ID

Every regulated exchange runs KYC: a photo ID, sometimes a selfie or proof of address. Approval often takes minutes, sometimes a day or two.

  3. Deposit money

Bank transfer is usually the cheapest. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are faster but cost more. Some countries have their own rails, like havale/EFT in Turkey, QRIS in Indonesia or Pix in Brazil.

  4. Buy PEPE

Search for the PEPE ticker, pick the pair in your currency or USDT, and place a market or limit order. Check the name says Pepe and the network says Ethereum.

  5. Decide where to keep it

Leave it on the exchange for convenience, or withdraw it to your own wallet on the Ethereum network. Our PEPE wallet guide covers the setup.

A few notes from doing this many times. First, finish verification before you deposit. Some exchanges accept the money and then freeze it until KYC clears, which is stressful for no reason. Second, if the exchange offers both a simple "buy" button and an "advanced" or "pro" trading screen, the pro screen is usually cheaper, because the simple button hides a spread in the price. Third, write down the PEPE balance and the price you paid. You will need it for taxes later, and exchange history exports are not always kept forever.

If you just want to know what a given amount buys today, the PEPE calculator converts both ways, and the live PEPE price page explains why quotes differ slightly between exchanges.

Where to buy Pepe coin: centralised exchange or DEX

There are two ways to buy PEPE. You can use a centralised exchange (CEX), a company that holds your money and tokens and matches buyers with sellers. Or you can use a decentralised exchange (DEX) such as Uniswap, where you swap ETH for PEPE directly from your own wallet through a smart contract. Most beginners should start with a CEX. It accepts normal money, has customer support and doesn’t require you to manage gas fees.

Where can I buy Pepe coin in practice? Binance listed PEPE on 5 May 2023, OKX on 1 May 2023, Kraken in mid-May 2023 and Bitvavo on 23 May 2023. Robinhood and Coinbase followed on 13 November 2024, and Upbit added a Korean won market a day later. On top of those, plenty of local exchanges quote PEPE in lira, rupiah, rupees, reais or Australian dollars. We compare them side by side, with pairs, rails and licences, on the best exchanges to buy PEPE page, and we have full reviews of eight of them, for example our Coinbase review and our Bitvavo review.

Buy Pepe coin with credit card, Apple Pay or bank transfer

How you pay changes what you pay. A bank transfer is slower but usually free. A card or Apple Pay is instant, but the exchange passes on the card network’s cost, and sometimes adds its own. Here is how the main options compared on the venues we checked on 13 October 2026.

Some real numbers: Bitvavo’s EUR deposits by iDEAL, SEPA and Bancontact are free, while card, Apple Pay and Google Pay cost 1%. Bitpanda’s SEPA deposits are free and PayPal costs 1.49%. CEX.IO’s own July 2026 article puts card deposits at 0.49% to 4.99% plus a service charge that varies by provider and country. If you plan to buy Pepe coin with a debit card for a small test order, fine. For anything bigger, a bank transfer usually saves more than any trading-fee discount.

Buy Pepe coin with bank transfer in your own currency where you can. Converting euros into dollars, then dollars into PEPE, quietly adds a currency spread that never shows up as a "fee".

Card ready, ID ready?Check that the exchange serves your country first. CEX.IO is not available in India or Canada, takes no new EU/EEA sign-ups, and does not offer PEPE to US users.

Fees and minimums when you buy PEPE

Three costs add up when you buy Pepe coin: the deposit fee (covered above), the trading fee or spread, and, if you move the tokens out, a withdrawal fee. The trading fee is either a visible percentage (maker and taker fees on an order book) or a premium baked into the price on broker-style apps. Brokers look "free" but are rarely cheaper.

Entry-level PEPE trading costs, checked 13 Oct 2026. Fee tiers change, so confirm in the app.

CoinbasePEPE-USD$1Spread plus fee shown at order time
BitvavoPEPE-EUR€50.15% maker / 0.25% taker

RobinhoodPEPE/USDNot confirmedNo commission on default routing; cost sits in the spread
IndodaxPEPE/IDRRp 10,0000.1% maker / 0.2% taker per its API

Withdrawal is where PEPE gets odd. Since PEPE lives on Ethereum, moving it out costs Ethereum gas, and exchanges charge that in PEPE. On 13 October 2026 Bitvavo’s API listed a PEPE withdrawal fee of 270,000 tokens with a 280,000 minimum, and BtcTurk set a 250,000 PEPE minimum withdrawal. That sounds huge until you remember the price. Still, it means very small balances are cheaper to leave where they are. The wallet guide explains when moving them out is worth it.

Real PEPE or a copycat? Check before you buy

Type "how to buy pepe" into Google and the autocomplete suggests presales like Pepeto and PepeNode before the real token. Those are separate projects with no link to PEPE, and many of them are pushed through paid press releases. The same trick happens inside wallets and DEXs, where anyone can launch a token called PEPE in a few minutes.

  • The contract is 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933 on Ethereum. Compare every character.
  • The token has 18 decimals and a supply of about 420.69 trillion.
  • There is no presale. PEPE launched in April 2023 and has traded openly ever since.
  • Nobody legitimate will DM you a "PEPE 2.0" or a private sale link.
  • On an exchange, the asset page says Pepe (PEPE), and deposits run on the Ethereum network.

Robinhood labels the token "Pepecoin (PEPE)" in its asset list, which adds to the confusion, because Pepecoin (PEP) is a completely different proof-of-work coin. If you are unsure which frog you are looking at, the PEPE vs Pepecoin explainer clears it up, and the Pepe clones guide lists the most common copycats and their status.

Buying PEPE on Uniswap with MetaMask

If you already own ETH in a self-custody wallet, a DEX swap skips the exchange account entirely. The main Uniswap V2 PEPE/WETH pool has existed since launch, and about 99.4% of its liquidity tokens sit locked in the PEPE contract itself, which has no function to move them. Here is the short route.

Install MetaMask from its official site, fund it with ETH, and open the Uniswap app. Pick ETH as the token you pay with. For the token you receive, paste the PEPE contract address rather than typing "PEPE" into the search, because search lists can include look-alikes. Review the quote, set a sensible slippage, and confirm the swap in MetaMask. After the transaction confirms, add PEPE to your wallet view with MetaMask’s import feature, as described in the MetaMask help centre.

Gas is the catch. Every swap pays an Ethereum network fee in ETH on top of the pool fee, and it rises when the network is busy. For a $20 trade, gas can eat a noticeable chunk, so DEX buying makes more sense for larger amounts or when gas is quiet. Never approve a swap on a site you reached from an ad or a DM. In December 2025 even the official Pepe website served a wallet drainer for a while, so bookmark the tools you use.

Swap done, contract checkedChecked the contract, kept some ETH for gas, bookmarked the real site. That’s the whole recipe.

How to sell Pepe coin and cash out

Selling is the buying flow in reverse. On an exchange, sell PEPE for your local currency or a stablecoin, then withdraw the money to your bank account. If your tokens are in a self-custody wallet, first send them to the exchange’s PEPE deposit address, and make sure the deposit network is Ethereum. Sending ERC-20 PEPE to a deposit address meant for a different network is one of the few mistakes support may not be able to fix.

Fiat withdrawal fees vary widely: Bitvavo’s EUR withdrawals were free on 13 October 2026, Pintu charged a flat Rp 4,500 and Indodax Rp 10,000. Taxes vary even more. Indonesia withholds a 0.21% final tax on sales through licensed local platforms, Germany currently exempts private crypto sales held for more than a year, and in the US every sale is reported as a property disposal. The country guides cover the local rules in detail.

Our take

Buy on a licensed exchange in your own currency, fund it by bank transfer, and only withdraw to a wallet once the balance is big enough to justify the Ethereum fee. Start with an amount you could watch drop by 80% without losing sleep, because PEPE has done exactly that before.

How to buy PEPE in your country

Local routes differ more than most guides admit. Buying PEPE in Turkey usually means a PEPE/TRY pair on BtcTurk, Paribu, Binance TR or OKX TR, funded by havale or EFT. On 13 October 2026 the lira was PEPE’s second-largest fiat market on CoinGecko-tracked venues. Buying PEPE in Indonesia runs through OJK-licensed apps such as Indodax and Pintu with QRIS or e-wallets. In Germany, MiCA-licensed platforms such as Bitpanda, Bitvavo and Bison sell PEPE for euros. Read our guides to buying PEPE in Turkey, buying PEPE in Indonesia and buying PEPE in Germany for the full local picture.

Buyers in India, Pakistan or Canada have their own options, from PEPE/INR markets on CoinDCX to P2P in Pakistan and PEPE/CAD on Kraken. The USA guide lists the US platforms with live PEPE markets, and the full country list covers all twelve markets we track.

Questions people ask

Where can I buy Pepe coin?+

On most large exchanges. Binance has listed PEPE since 5 May 2023, and Coinbase and Robinhood since 13 November 2024. Kraken, OKX, Bitvavo, Bitpanda and many local exchanges list it too. You can also swap ETH for PEPE on Uniswap from a self-custody wallet.

Can I buy Pepe coin with a credit card?+

Yes, on many exchanges and wallet on-ramps, but cards are usually the most expensive way in. Bitvavo, for example, charges 1% on card, Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits, and CEX.IO quotes 0.49% to 4.99% plus a provider charge. A bank transfer is normally free or close to it.

What is the minimum amount of PEPE I can buy?+

It depends on the venue, not the token. On 13 October 2026 Coinbase’s PEPE-USD market accepted orders from $1, Bitvavo from €5, Indodax from Rp 10,000 and Pintu from Rp 11,000. Because one PEPE costs a tiny fraction of a cent, even small orders get you millions of tokens.

Is PEPE on Ethereum or another network?+

The original PEPE is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, contract 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933. Bridged versions exist on BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Avalanche, but their supply is tiny. There is no official PEPE on Solana.

Do I need a wallet to buy PEPE?+

No. If you buy on an exchange, the exchange holds the tokens for you. A self-custody wallet such as MetaMask or a Ledger is optional, but it is the only way to hold the tokens yourself, and it is required if you want to buy on Uniswap.

How do I sell Pepe coin and get money back?+

Sell PEPE for your local currency or a stablecoin on the exchange, then withdraw the fiat to your bank. If your PEPE sits in a self-custody wallet, send it back to an exchange deposit address on the Ethereum network first. Selling usually counts as a taxable event.
