Which is the real Pepe coin?

Search for Little Pepe coin, Pepe 2.0 or “new Pepe presale” and you will land in a swamp of frog-branded tokens, all borrowing the fame of one: Pepe (PEPE). The real PEPE is an ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum on 14 April 2023. It never held a presale, has no team allocation for sale, charges no transaction tax and has a renounced contract. Its address is 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933, and it is the only address shown on the official site, pepe.vip.

Everything else on this page is a separate project with its own team, its own token and its own risks. None is affiliated with PEPE. Some are genuine meme experiments, some are aggressive marketing machines, and for a few we simply could not confirm the basics. We stick to what we could verify, with dates, and say clearly where we could not.

If you also bump into “Pepecoin”, that is another story again: a separate proof-of-work chain (PEP) and a 2016 project (PEPECOIN). Our PEPE vs Pepecoin comparison untangles those. And if you want to add the real token to a wallet without mistakes, the PEPE wallet guide shows the steps.

Little Pepe coin: what we know about the presale

Little Pepe (LILPEPE) is the most-searched Pepe clone right now. It pitches itself as a meme token with its own “Layer-2” meme chain on Ethereum and has been sold through a long, multi-stage presale. The figures you see quoted, such as more than $28.1 million raised by June 2026 and a “listing price” of $0.003, come from paid press releases such as one published on HackerNoon. The project also cites a CertiK audit and “two CEX listings at launch”; both are self-reported and we could not verify them.

As of 13 October 2026 we found no confirmed launch, no confirmed exchange listing, and no Little Pepe entry in CoinGecko’s coin list. That does not make it a scam, and we are not saying it is one. It means there is nothing yet to check on-chain beyond what the project says about itself. The practical risk for searchers of “little pepe coin scam” is a different one: unlaunched presales attract fake “claim” and “airdrop” pages that copy the branding and drain wallets. Only ever follow links from the project’s own verified channels, and assume any presale money is fully at risk.

Launched Pepe clones and where they stand

The best guide to what a frog presale might become is what earlier ones became. Each of the clones below did launch and trade, and CoinGecko data from 13 October 2026 tells a consistent story: every one trades 95% or more below its peak, with a market cap under $1.2 million. For comparison, the real PEPE was about $1.7 billion on the same day.

Pepe 2.0 (PEPE2.0)

Pepe 2.0 launched around 28 June 2023 as a “second chance” at PEPE’s early run. It was a fair launch rather than a presale, but it later migrated to a new contract, and Coinranking lists configurable buy and sell fees on it, unlike the tax-free original. On 13 October 2026 its market cap was about $0.44 million and its price about 99.7% below its all-time high.

Pepe Unchained (PEPU)

Pepe Unchained sold a presale in 2024, reportedly raising around $73 million, for a meme coin with its own Ethereum Layer-2, as The Defiant covered. The token launched around December 2024 and migrated to a new contract in May 2025. On 13 October 2026, CoinGecko showed a market cap of roughly $0.6 million, about 95.5% below its high.

Wall Street Pepe (WEPE)

Wall Street Pepe marketed itself as a trading community with a 200 billion token supply. Its presale was marketed through paid press releases and sponsored articles claiming $48–57 million or more raised. It hit an all-time high of about $0.000323 in February 2025; on 13 October 2026 it traded near $0.0000061, around 98% lower, with a market cap of about $1.19 million.

Mind of Pepe (MIND)

Mind of Pepe was sold as an “AI agent” meme token, and its presale was promoted largely through press releases claiming more than $8.6 million by May 2025. On 13 October 2026 it sat about 99% below its peak, with a market cap close to $0.7 million.

Presale-only Pepe projects

A second group of frog tokens was still in presale, or had an unclear launch status, when we checked on 13 October 2026. For these, almost all public information comes from sponsored or press-release content, so we keep to what each claims to be and flag what we could not confirm.

PepeNode (PEPENODE) is a “mine-to-earn” game where users buy virtual nodes, with a claimed 70% burn of tokens spent. Its presale was marketed through paid press releases, which put it at about $2.2 million by December 2025 and in its “final 7 days” in January 2026. Its launch status is unverified, and the 539–683% staking APYs it advertised are marketing numbers, not returns. Note that “pepe node coin” searches mean this presale, not a node of any real network.

Pepeto (PEPETO) pitches a zero-fee exchange, PepetoSwap, and a bridge. Its presale was marketed through paid press releases, claiming between $5.5 million and over $6.68 million. The project itself warns that any “Pepeto” token on a DEX is fake, which tells you how crowded this space is.

Alpha Pepe (ALPE) advertised “instant token delivery” and 85% APR staking, with press releases claiming about $132,000 to $245,000 raised; its chain is unverified. Neo Pepe (NEOP) is a DAO-themed presale with 16 stages and a 1 billion supply, claiming over $2 million by June 2025. Evil Pepe (EVILPEPE), an “evil twin” presale with a hard cap near $2 million, appears only in sponsored coverage, and we could not confirm its chain.

Baby Pepe and the name-collision problem

Some names are not one project at all. We found at least five different tokens called Baby Pepe (BABYPEPE) on BNB Chain, Ethereum, Base and Solana. The Ethereum one had a market cap around $0.35 million on 13 October 2026 and 24-hour volume of roughly one dollar, so in practice it barely trades. Buying “Baby Pepe” by name alone is a coin toss about which token you get.

The same goes for the ticker PEPE itself. Unrelated Solana tokens such as “PEPECOIN on SOL” use it, and searches for “pepe coin” on a DEX can surface dozens of matches. The fix is always the same: copy the contract from Etherscan or CoinGecko and compare every character. Our PEPE safety guide covers the drainers and fake sites that exploit this confusion.

Cheeky meme blob character, a stand-in for copycat tokens
Same frog, different tokenCopycats live off name recognition. The contract address is the only thing that tells them apart.

If Pepe presales seem to be everywhere, that is partly because they pay to be. Many of the articles that announce “$X million raised” or “could 100x” are sponsored posts or press releases syndicated across crypto news sites, sometimes labelled only in small print. The numbers in them are usually supplied by the project and not checked by the publisher. That is how a token can look like front-page news while having no exchange listing at all.

The pattern repeats: a frog name, a staged presale with rising prices to create urgency, a staking APY in the hundreds, a self-cited audit, and a promise of big exchange listings at launch. Then comes the listing, early buyers sell into the first liquidity, and the chart looks like the bars above. That does not mean every team acts in bad faith. It means the structure stacks the odds against late buyers.

Red-flags checklist for Pepe copycats

Before putting money into any frog-themed token, run through this list. One flag is a reason for caution; three or more is a reason to walk away.

  • It claims to be a “new”, “2.0”, “baby” or “little” version of PEPE.
  • Its contract is anything other than 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933 on Ethereum.
  • It sells through a presale with stage-by-stage price rises and countdown timers.
  • It advertises staking APYs in the hundreds of percent.
  • Most coverage you can find is sponsored, a press release or influencer posts.
  • It promises specific exchange listings or a “listing price”.
  • It has a buy or sell tax, or the contract owner is not renounced.
  • A “claim” or “airdrop” page asks you to connect a wallet and sign.

For the real thing, compare venues on our PEPE exchanges page or follow the how to buy PEPE guide, which includes a contract check at every step. Our take

The Pepe brand is free to borrow, and plenty of projects do. So far none of the clones has come close to the original, and most trade 95–99% below their peaks. If you want frog exposure, the only way to be sure you get PEPE is to check the contract, every time.

Questions people ask

Is Little Pepe coin the real PEPE?+

No. Little Pepe (LILPEPE) is a separate presale project that pitches its own meme Layer-2 chain. It has no connection to Pepe (PEPE), the token at 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933 on Ethereum. On 13 October 2026 we found no confirmed exchange listing for it.

Is Little Pepe coin a scam?+

We cannot confirm that it is a scam, and we cannot confirm its main claims either. Its fundraising figures, audit and promised exchange listings come mostly from paid press releases. Until a token is launched, listed and verifiable on-chain, treat every claim as marketing and assume you could lose the full amount.

Which is the real Pepe coin?+

The real Pepe (PEPE) is the ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum on 14 April 2023 at contract 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933. It never had a presale. Bridged copies exist on BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Avalanche, but there is no official PEPE on Solana.

Is Pepe Unchained the same as PEPE?+

No. Pepe Unchained (PEPU) ran its own presale in 2024, launched around December 2024 and migrated to a new token in May 2025. On 13 October 2026 CoinGecko showed it about 95.5% below its all-time high with a market cap near $0.6 million.

Is Wall Street Pepe still going?+

Wall Street Pepe (WEPE) still trades, but on 13 October 2026 CoinGecko listed it about 98% below its February 2025 all-time high, with a market cap of roughly $1.19 million.

Why do so many Pepe copycats exist?+

Because the name sells. PEPE reached a market cap of about $11.8 billion at its December 2024 peak, and new projects borrow the frog to ride that recognition. Most launch through presales with big promised returns, and most trade far below their peaks afterwards.
