Quick answer
If you want the PEPE coin price in TRY, the widget above shows it live. If you want to buy, the short version is this: Turkish users fund an exchange account with lira by bank transfer, then buy on a PEPE/TRY order book. BtcTurk, Paribu, Binance TR and OKX TR all ran a live lira market for PEPE when we checked their public data on 13 October 2026.
Turkey is not a side market for this frog. On the day we checked, the lira carried about 30% of all PEPE trading against national currencies on CoinGecko-tracked venues, almost level with the US dollar. Few countries trade a meme coin this heavily in their own money, and it shapes how pricing, deposits and regulation work here.
PEPE coin price in TRY and TL
Turks tend to say “TL” rather than “TRY”, and exchanges follow suit: Paribu labels its market PEPE_TL, while BtcTurk and Binance TR use PEPE_TRY. Either way it is the same lira price. Because one PEPE is worth a tiny fraction of a kuruş, it is easier to think in round lots. On 13 October 2026 CoinGecko listed PEPE at about ₺0.00020, so a million PEPE came to roughly ₺200, and ₺1,000 bought about five million tokens. The hero widget does that maths live, including what ₺500, ₺1,000 and ₺5,000 buy right now.
The quote you see on an exchange will rarely match an aggregator to the last digit. BtcTurk’s last trade that day was ₺0.00020010 and Paribu’s was ₺0.0001999, close to each other but not identical. Spread, order-book depth and the USD/TRY rate all feed in. If you want to turn a lira amount into PEPE, the PEPE calculator handles conversions, and the main PEPE price page explains why the number has so many zeros.
The lira market is also deep for a meme coin. On our snapshot, Binance’s PEPE/TRY book alone traded around $3.5 million in 24 hours and BtcTurk around $1.6 million. Deep books matter because they keep the gap between buy and sell prices narrow, which is a hidden cost on thinner venues.
Is PEPE legal in Turkey? SPK, the central bank and MASAK
Yes. Holding and trading PEPE is legal in Turkey. Three bodies shape how you do it.
The SPK (Sermaye Piyasası Kurulu, the Capital Markets Board) became the crypto regulator when Law No. 7518 of July 2024 amended the Capital Markets Law to cover crypto-asset service providers. Platforms that were operating had to apply for a licence, and the SPK publishes a “Faaliyette Bulunanlar Listesi”, a list of firms still operating while their applications are reviewed. The version dated 1 October 2026 has 52 entries and is explicitly marked provisional. The SPK itself says inclusion “does not mean” the firm has been authorised. In plain terms, no Turkish exchange holds a final operating licence yet. The deadlines were pushed back by an SPK decision of 26 March 2026, as reported by Forbes Türkiye.
The list is not a formality. At its meeting of 23 September 2026 the SPK told Bitexen to stop accepting new customers and stop listing new assets until further notice. In August 2026 it also moved against unlicensed foreign sites with access bans, according to Turkish press.
The central bank (TCMB) set the other big rule. Its regulation in Official Gazette No. 31456, in force since 30 April 2021, says crypto assets cannot be used in payments, directly or indirectly. So you can buy and sell PEPE, but a shop cannot accept it from you.
MASAK, Turkey’s financial intelligence unit, applies anti-money-laundering and KYC duties to crypto platforms. We did not verify its specific requirements for this page, but in practice it is why every exchange asks for ID.
Turkish exchanges with a PEPE/TRY pair
We checked each venue’s public API or ticker on 13 October 2026, so the pairs below are confirmed, not copied from a marketing page. The funding column only shows what we could verify; “not confirmed” means we found no reliable source, not that the method fails.
| Exchange | PEPE pairs | Lira funding | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| BtcTurk | PEPE/TRY, PEPE/USDT | Havale/EFT | SPK provisional list |
| Paribu | PEPE/TL, PEPE/USDT | Havale/EFT | SPK provisional list |
| Binance TR | PEPE/TRY | Not confirmed | SPK provisional list |
| OKX TR | PEPE/TRY (since 19 Jan 2026) | Not confirmed | SPK provisional list |
| Bitlo, CoinTR | PEPE/TRY (thin) | Not confirmed | SPK provisional list |
BtcTurk is the oldest lira exchange, running since 2013, and its PEPE_TRY book is one of the busiest. The catch is security history: hot-wallet hacks of about $55 million in June 2024 and about $48 million in August 2025. Cold wallets were reported unaffected both times. Our BtcTurk review goes through fees and limits. Paribu publishes a clear fee table: for TL pairs at the entry level it charges 0.12% maker and 0.28% taker, and its USDT pairs are cheaper at 0.01% and 0.10%. The Paribu review covers the rest.
Binance TR and OKX TR also trade PEPE against the lira; OKX TR opened its PEPE-TRY market on 19 January 2026. For the global picture beyond Turkey, see our PEPE exchange comparison.
Prefer a global account in dollars?Turkey is supported, but there is no lira pair. Check availability before signing up.
Hop inHow to buy PEPE coin in Turkey, step by step
This is the route most Turkish buyers take, built on bank transfers rather than cards. Card purchases of crypto are not typical on local exchanges, and we could not confirm card funding on the main venues.
Pick a venue from the SPK list
Open the SPK provisional list and make sure the exchange you chose is on it. BtcTurk, Paribu, Binance TR and OKX TR all are; Bitexen has been barred from taking new customers since 23 September 2026.
Verify your identity
Sign up and complete the in-app identity check. Turkish exchanges run KYC under MASAK’s anti-money-laundering rules, so have your ID card ready.
Send lira by havale or EFT
Transfer TL from a bank account in your own name to the IBAN the exchange shows you. Yapı Kredi, for example, advertises instant 24/7 transfers to BtcTurk and Paribu from its mobile app.
Buy on the PEPE/TRY book
Search PEPE and open the TRY (or TL) market. BtcTurk’s minimum order is about ₺100. A limit order lets you choose your price; a market order fills straight away at the best offer.
Decide where PEPE lives
Leaving PEPE on the exchange is simplest. If you withdraw to your own wallet, send it on Ethereum (ERC-20) only and check minimums first: BtcTurk’s is 250,000 PEPE. Our PEPE wallet guide covers the set-up.
One small habit pays off: before your first big deposit, send a small havale and confirm it lands. A typo in the IBAN or reference can delay a transfer, and it is easier to sort out with a small amount. For the general version of this process, our beginner’s guide to buying PEPE walks through every step, including selling later.
Crypto tax in Turkey: what is actually in force
This is where many Turkish guides get it wrong. As of October 2026, Turkey has no crypto-specific income tax or transaction tax in force. In March 2026 an omnibus bill proposed two things: a transaction tax of 0.03% (“on binde üç”) and a 10% withholding tax (stopaj) on gains. Both clauses were withdrawn on 26 March 2026 for further review, and we found no new bill in September or October 2026.
Some local tax-guide sites still present the 10% stopaj as if it applied. It does not. That said, the topic is clearly on the government’s agenda, so keep a simple record of your PEPE buys and sells: date, amount, lira price and fees. If a law arrives later, you will be glad you did. The GİB is the authority to watch, and a qualified Turkish tax adviser is the right person for your own case.
CEX.IO in Turkey: honest availability
CEX.IO is an exchange that has run since 2013 and is registered in the US (NMLS #1804170) and with the UK’s FCA for anti-money-laundering purposes (firm 1007192). Turkey is not on its list of unsupported countries, dated 10 September 2026, so Turkish residents can sign up with its Nevis entity, CEX OVRS LLC.
Three caveats matter. CEX.IO holds no SPK licence and is not on the SPK provisional list. It has no lira pair: PEPE trades there only against USD, USDT and USDC, so you would be converting lira first. And since the SPK is moving against unlicensed foreign platforms, access could change. Treat it as an option for people who already think in dollars or stablecoins, not as a replacement for a lira exchange, and check availability in your country before signing up.
Local tips, traps and unique facts
Use the SPK list as your first filter. The Bitexen order shows that status can change fast. A platform that is missing from the list, or that asks you to pay into a personal IBAN or a third party, is a red flag.
Be careful with “alternative” deposit apps. We found no source confirming Papara as a current deposit route to the large exchanges, and one report says deposits moved to bank transfers after the new rules. Stick to havale or EFT from an account in your own name.
Check the token, not just the name. Copycat projects with “Pepe” in the name are everywhere, from presales to Telegram groups. Real PEPE’s Ethereum contract ends in …2311933. Our guide to PEPE copycats lists the common ones, and is PEPE safe? covers the broader risks.
Mind withdrawal minimums. BtcTurk requires at least 250,000 PEPE per withdrawal and 30,000 PEPE per deposit. That is small in lira terms, but it surprises people moving dust between wallets.
A last bit of context: in the Chainalysis 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index, Türkiye ranked 14th worldwide. Combined with the lira’s 30% share of PEPE fiat volume, that makes Turkey one of the places where this meme coin is a mainstream retail trade rather than a niche one.
For most people in Turkey, a lira exchange from the SPK list with a PEPE/TRY book is the simplest route: cheap bank deposits, deep liquidity and no currency conversion. Just remember that “on the list” is not “licensed” yet. Turkish users living in Europe face different rules, which we cover in buying PEPE in Germany, and our page on buying PEPE in Pakistan shows how differently a P2P-first market works.
Questions people ask
What is the PEPE coin price in TRY today?+
The live widget at the top of this page shows PEPE in Turkish lira, refreshed from market data. For reference, CoinGecko put PEPE at about ₺0.00020 on 13 October 2026, so one million PEPE cost roughly ₺200 that day. Prices on BtcTurk, Paribu and Binance TR can differ slightly from that average.
Which Turkish exchanges have a PEPE/TRY pair?+
On 13 October 2026 we confirmed PEPE against the lira on BtcTurk (PEPE_TRY), Paribu (PEPE_TL), Binance TR (PEPE_TRY) and OKX TR (PEPE-TRY), with thinner TRY books on Bitlo and CoinTR. All of them appear on the SPK provisional list, which is not the same as a final licence.
Is PEPE legal in Turkey?+
Yes, owning and trading PEPE is legal. What is banned since 30 April 2021 is using crypto to pay for goods and services. Exchanges fall under the SPK (Capital Markets Board) since Law 7518 of July 2024, and MASAK applies anti-money-laundering rules.
Do I pay tax on PEPE gains in Turkey?+
As of October 2026 there is no crypto-specific tax in force. A 0.03% transaction tax and a 10% withholding tax on gains were proposed in March 2026 but withdrawn on 26 March 2026. Websites that describe the 10% stopaj as current law are wrong; keep records anyway in case rules change.
Can I deposit lira with Papara to buy PEPE?+
We could not confirm that Papara is a current deposit route to the big Turkish exchanges, so we don’t recommend it. Bank transfer by havale or EFT to your own exchange IBAN is the standard route, and Yapı Kredi advertises instant 24/7 transfers to BtcTurk and Paribu.
Is CEX.IO available in Turkey?+
Turkey is not on CEX.IO’s unsupported-countries list, so sign-up is possible through its Nevis entity, CEX OVRS LLC. It has no SPK licence, is not on the SPK provisional list and offers no lira pair, only PEPE against USD, USDT and USDC.
