Quick verdict
If you searched for Pepe coin Indodax, the short answer is yes: Indonesia’s oldest crypto exchange runs a live PEPE/IDR market, and you can start with Rp 10,000. Indodax’s homepage says it has operated “since 2014, first in Indonesia”, and its legal entity, PT Indodax Nasional Indonesia, describes itself as a Digital Financial Asset Trader licensed and supervised by OJK.
That longevity and the wide range of rupiah top-up options are Indodax’s main selling points. The catch is September 2024, when attackers drained an estimated $20–25 million from Indodax hot wallets. The exchange came back, but we could not find a public proof of reserves, insurance details or a confirmed account of how users were made whole. Add an all-in fee table that, since 1 October 2026, only appears inside the app, and you get a solid but not top-tier score: 7.0 out of 10.
Compared with its closest rival, our Pintu review lands higher mainly because Pintu publishes its fees in full and has no known breach. If you are still deciding how buying crypto works locally, start with our guide to buying PEPE in Indonesia.
Indodax PEPE coin listing: what you actually get
We checked the Indodax public pairs API on 13 October 2026. The pepeidr market was active, with no maintenance flag, no suspension and deposits switched on. The exact date of the original PEPE listing on Indodax could not be confirmed, so we won’t guess it.
PEPE also appears on the official CFX bourse list as asset PEPE-915. That matters in Indonesia: licensed traders may only offer assets that are on the bourse list, so PEPE on Indodax sits inside the regulated perimeter rather than in a grey zone. The token itself is the Ethereum ERC-20 PEPE; if you ever see a “PEPE” with a different contract, check our guide to PEPE copycats before touching it.
Liquidity is reasonable for a single-country venue. On 13 October 2026 the ticker showed roughly 51.2 billion PEPE traded in 24 hours, about Rp 3.65 billion. That is plenty for retail orders but thin next to global venues, so large market orders can move the price. The Pepe coin price on Indodax runs to many decimals, since one PEPE costs well under one rupiah.
Indodax review: how we scored it
We rate every exchange on six equally weighted criteria and round the average. Unverifiable claims earn no points. The score is about buying and holding PEPE, not about futures, staking or other products.
PEPE market (8.0): a live rupiah pair with a low Rp 10,000 entry point and a regulated asset listing. It loses points only for modest depth next to global venues. Funding rails (9.0): a free BCA Direct option, virtual accounts, QRIS and four e-wallets, with every fee spelled out in the help centre. Regulation (8.0): OJK supervision and CFX/KKI membership are real advantages, though we could not open the OJK register itself.
App and UX (7.5): a 4.7 rating from over 25,000 iOS reviews and a sensible Lite/Pro split, with one quirk: small Pro orders get routed through Lite. Fee clarity (5.5): the API shows 0.1% maker and 0.2% taker, but Indodax charges an all-in fee that includes tax and the CFX fee, and since 1 October 2026 the new table is only shown in the app. The PEPE withdrawal fee isn’t public either. Security record (4.0): a $20–25 million hot-wallet breach two years ago, with no public proof of reserves to rebuild trust.
Indodax fees for PEPE buyers
Fees on Indodax come in two layers. The trading fee is a percentage of each order, and Indodax describes it as “all-in”: trading fee plus tax plus the CFX bourse fee. Under Indonesia’s PMK 50/2025 rules, the final income tax on a sale through a licensed domestic platform is 0.21%, withheld automatically, and crypto is no longer subject to VAT. What we could not confirm is whether the 0.1% and 0.2% figures in the API already include those pieces.
The second layer is moving rupiah in and out, and here Indodax is refreshingly clear. Lite mode always pays the taker rate, so if you are fee-sensitive, a limit order on Pro is the cheaper habit.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PEPE/IDR maker | 0.1% | Pairs API, 13 Oct 2026; tax and CFX inclusion unconfirmed |
| PEPE/IDR taker | 0.2% | Lite mode always pays the taker rate |
| BCA Direct deposit | Free | Minimum Rp 100,000 |
| Virtual account | Rp 1,000–3,330 | BCA VA Rp 3,330; Mandiri/BRI VA Rp 1,665 |
| QRIS deposit | Free to Rp 100,000 | Then 0.7% |
| E-wallets | 1.5–2% | ShopeePay 1.5%, DANA/OVO 1.67%, GoPay 2% |
| Rupiah withdrawal | Rp 10,000 | +Rp 1,000 with SMS OTP; minimum Rp 100,000 |
| PEPE withdrawal | In-app only | Network and fee not published |
A quick sense check: a Rp 1,000,000 PEPE buy in Lite at the 0.2% taker rate costs about Rp 2,000 in trading fee, before any deposit fee. Funding that through GoPay at 2% would cost Rp 20,000, ten times the trading fee, so the rail you choose matters more than the maker/taker split. How to buy PEPE on Indodax
The flow is short once your account is verified. If you want the general picture first, including how exchanges compare with buying on a DEX, our step-by-step guide to buying PEPE covers it.
Register and verify
Sign up in the Indodax app or on indodax.com and finish identity verification. The terms require verification before you can trade or withdraw.
Top up rupiah
For small amounts QRIS is free up to Rp 100,000. For larger deposits BCA Direct is free from Rp 100,000; virtual accounts and e-wallets cost a little more.
Open the PEPE/IDR market
Search for PEPE and check the pair reads PEPE/IDR. Lite is the simple buy screen; Pro gives you an order book and limit orders.
Place your order
Lite accepts from Rp 10,000. On Pro, orders below Rp 25,000 are routed through Lite. A limit order on Pro can earn the lower maker rate.
Decide where PEPE lives
Leave a trading balance on the exchange if you like, but move long-term holdings to a wallet you control. Check the network shown in Digital Asset Info and send a test amount first.
One practical tip: withdrawing PEPE means sending an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, which costs gas. On a small balance the network fee can be a meaningful share of what you hold, so batch withdrawals rather than sending every purchase. Our PEPE wallet guide explains how to add the official contract to MetaMask or Trust Wallet and avoid fake tokens.
Prefer a global order book in USD or USDT?PEPE trades against USD and USDT on international exchanges too. Check availability in your country and the regulatory notes first.
Hop inIs Indodax safe? The September 2024 hack
On 11 September 2024, blockchain security firms PeckShield, Cyvers and SlowMist flagged suspicious outflows from Indodax wallets. Estimates of the loss range from about $20–22 million in early reports to about $25.5 million in Merkle Science’s flow-of-funds analysis. Indodax put the platform into maintenance while it investigated. Some commentators pointed at North Korea’s Lazarus Group, but that attribution was speculative and has not been confirmed.
We could not verify how affected balances were handled afterwards, and we found no live proof-of-reserves page or insurance disclosure. That doesn’t mean funds are at risk today, only that you must take the exchange’s word for it. Indodax is still operating, still licensed so the practical lesson is the standard one: keep a trading balance on the exchange and hold long-term PEPE in self-custody. Our page on whether PEPE is safe separates exchange risk like this from token and market risk.
OJK licence and Indonesian rules
Indonesia moved crypto supervision from Bappebti to the Financial Services Authority, OJK, in January 2025 under the P2SK Law, with POJK 27/2024 as the key rulebook. Indodax’s terms, last updated 9 April 2026, call it a licensed and supervised Digital Financial Asset Trader (PAKD). Press coverage of OJK’s first official whitelist, released on 19 December 2025, lists Indodax among licensed traders, and Indodax is a member of the CFX bourse and the KKI clearing house.
The licence number itself is unconfirmed. Licensing also helps on tax: selling PEPE on a licensed local platform carries a 0.21% final tax withheld for you, while selling through a foreign platform carries 1%.
Indodax pros and cons
Put simply, Indodax wins on access and loses on transparency. Here is the balance sheet as it stood on 13 October 2026.
👍 What we like
- Live PEPE/IDR market from Rp 10,000
- OJK-supervised PAKD and CFX/KKI member
- Wide rupiah rails: BCA Direct, VAs, QRIS, DANA, OVO, GoPay, ShopeePay
- Clear rupiah deposit and withdrawal fees
- 4.7 iOS rating from 25,000+ reviews
👀 What to watch
- Hot-wallet hack in September 2024, an estimated $20–25 million
- Fee table since 1 October 2026 only shown in the app
- PEPE withdrawal network and fee not published
- No verifiable proof of reserves or insurance
- Rp 10,000 rupiah withdrawal fee is higher than Pintu’s
Alternatives, and how CEX.IO compares
The obvious local alternative is Pintu, which also lists PEPE/IDR, publishes its full Pro fee table and keeps assets with a third-party custodian. It scores 7.8 in our Pintu review. Other OJK-licensed traders such as Reku, Bittime and Tokocrypto are covered on our page about PEPE in Indonesia; note that Tokocrypto has no PEPE/IDR pair. For a wider view of global venues, see our PEPE exchanges comparison.
CEX.IO is an international exchange running since 2013, with a US NMLS registration (#1804170) and UK FCA anti-money-laundering registration (firm 1007192). Indonesia is not on its unsupported-countries list, so you can generally sign up, but Indonesian users contract with CEX OVRS LLC in Nevis, which has no OJK licence. There is no rupiah pair; PEPE trades against USD, USDT and USDC, and on 13 October 2026 those books showed very small volume. Selling through a foreign platform also means 1% final tax instead of 0.21%.

Card funding on CEX.IO costs 0.49% to 4.99% plus a provider service charge, according to its own fee article of 31 July 2026, and some CEX.IO pages carried a regulatory notice about paused deposits and trading on 13 October 2026, probably aimed at EU visitors. Check what your account actually shows before you fund it.
For a rupiah-first buyer, Indodax is a regulated, convenient way to buy PEPE, and its funding options are among the best documented in the country. CEX.IO makes sense only if you specifically want USD or USDT pairs and accept the lack of local licensing. Indodax’s 2024 hack and its in-app-only fee table are the reasons it sits at 7.0 rather than higher, and both are things you can manage by keeping balances small and checking fees before you trade.
Questions people ask
Is Pepe coin listed on Indodax?+
Yes. Indodax runs a live PEPE/IDR market. On 13 October 2026 its public pairs API showed the pair active, not in maintenance and with deposits enabled. The minimum order is Rp 10,000.
Where can I see the Pepe coin Indodax price?+
Inside the Indodax app or on the PEPE/IDR market page on indodax.com. Because PEPE costs a fraction of one rupiah, the quote has several decimals. The widget at the top of this page shows a live PEPE price in rupiah from a market data feed, which can differ slightly from the Indodax order book.
What are the Indodax fees for PEPE?+
The public API listed 0.1% maker and 0.2% taker for PEPE/IDR on 13 October 2026. Indodax uses an all-in fee (trading fee, tax and CFX fee) and changed that structure on 1 October 2026, so check the Trading Fee menu in the app for the exact current figure.
Is Indodax safe after the 2024 hack?+
Indodax lost an estimated $20–25 million from its hot wallets in September 2024 and halted the platform while it investigated. It is OJK-licensed and still operating, but no public proof of reserves or insurance could be verified. Keep only trading money on any exchange and move long-term PEPE to your own wallet.
Is Indodax licensed by OJK?+
Indodax says it is licensed and supervised by OJK as a Digital Financial Asset Trader (PAKD), and press coverage of the OJK whitelist published on 19 December 2025 lists it. We could not open the OJK register page itself, so the licence number is not confirmed here.
How do I withdraw PEPE from Indodax?+
Use the withdraw option on the PEPE asset and paste an Ethereum address you control. Indodax shows the network and fee in its Digital Asset Info section; we could not confirm them publicly, so read that screen carefully and send a small test amount first.
